What Is HALO TRIBRID?
HALO TRIBRID is a fractional resurfacing laser made by Sciton. It delivers three wavelengths, 2940 nm, 1927 nm, and 1470 nm, from one handpiece, and each wavelength reaches a different depth of skin.
Sciton introduced it in September 2025 as the first triple-wavelength resurfacing laser.
Until now, those three wavelengths lived in three separate Sciton treatments: HALO, MOXI, and erbium resurfacing. Getting the benefit of all three meant separate appointments, separate recoveries, and separate bills.

How the Three Wavelengths Work Together
Think of your skin in three layers, each with its own set of problems. HALO TRIBRID assigns one wavelength to each layer.
2940 nm: Surface texture
The 2940 nm erbium wavelength removes a controlled, tunable depth of the outermost skin, from 20 to 150 microns. This is what smooths rough texture, softens fine lines, and tightens the look of pores.
1927 nm: Pigment and sun damage
The 1927 nm wavelength is the one HALO never had before. It targets the layer where sun spots, freckles, melasma-type discoloration, and uneven tone sit. This is the same wavelength used in Sciton’s MOXI treatment, now built into HALO.
1470 nm: Deep collagen remodeling
The 1470 nm wavelength reaches 300 to 700 microns into the dermis without removing the surface. Heat at that depth triggers new collagen, which is what firms skin, fills in scars, and keeps results improving for months after the visit.

Weeks 2 to 3: Pigment clears
This is when the 1927 nm wavelength shows its work. Sun spots and uneven color lift, and most patients see their biggest pigment improvement in this window.
Months 1 to 6: Collagen builds
The 1470 nm wavelength keeps working long after the visit. Skin firms, scars soften, and pores look smaller as new collagen forms over the following months.

What to Expect at Your HALO TRIBRID Appointment
- Consultation. Your provider reviews your skin concerns, sun exposure, medical history, and how much downtime you can take. That decides the depth and energy of each wavelength.
- Numbing. A topical numbing cream goes on 30 to 60 minutes before treatment.
- Treatment. The handpiece glides over the skin in a tracked pattern for 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the area. With numbing cream and built-in cooling, most patients describe warmth and occasional prickling rather than pain.
- Aftercare. Follow the instructions we give you for the first 24 hours, then treated skin sloughs off and fresh skin comes through. Makeup can usually go back on after 24 to 72 hours, and sunscreen is required while you heal.

How is HALO TRIBRID different from the original HALO?
The original HALO uses two wavelengths, 2940 nm for the surface and 1470 nm for the dermis. HALO TRIBRID adds a third, 1927 nm, which targets pigment and sun damage directly. It also adds real-time thermal control, built-in cooling, and motion tracking in the handpiece.
Does it hurt?
Most patients find it very tolerable. Numbing cream is applied before the session and cooling is built into the handpiece. Expect warmth and some prickling during the pass.
How much downtime should I plan for?
Plan for three to five days of social downtime, with skin looking bronzed and then sloughing as it renews. Most people are fully back to normal within about a week. Lighter settings shorten that window.
How many treatments will I need?
Many patients see a clear change after one session. Sciton recommends one to two treatments per year for the best results. Some patients choose one deeper treatment, others a lighter series, and your provider will help you pick.
Can I have HALO TRIBRID if I have darker skin or a tan?
Yes. HALO TRIBRID is designed for Fitzpatrick skin types I through VI and can be done in any season. Your provider will still assess recent sun exposure at the consultation, because active tanning before treatment raises the risk of pigment changes.
Can I combine it with other treatments?
Yes. HALO TRIBRID is often paired with BBL HEROic in the same visit, since BBL handles redness and vessels that resurfacing lasers do not. Your provider will map out the order and timing.
